Ministries

Youth and Children

Youth and children meet twice a week for small groups:

Sunday morning at 10:00

Wednesday evening at 7:00

Monthly mission projects also part of youth, as well as lots of opportunities to have fun as you get to know each other and Jesus a little bit better.

Helping Hands for Christ

Helping Hands for Chirst is our United Methodist Men's group. We meet for devotion and prayer, as well as work projects in the church and community. If there is a way that we can be the "hands of Christ" for you please call the church office.

Helping Hands meets on the last Saturday of the month at 9AM

Homebound Connection

Homebound Communion is served the first week of the month to those who are unable to attend Sunday worship and receive the sacrament. You can help in visiting with and serving Communion homebound Telford members.

We also have a weekly bulletin mailing ministry to mail the church bulletin and a note to members who are unable to be with us in worship.

Monthly Local Mission

Each month we partner with a community non-profit or global relief agency to provide practical needs for our brothers and sisters down the street, and around the world. What we collect each month will vary by the needs of the organization we are partnering with. The local mission partnership for the month will be listed in the weekly church bulletin.

Bikes for Kids

Bikes for Kids is an annual Christmas project to purchase and assemble new bicycles for area students in need to be distributed before Christmas. This partnership works with other local churches and with selected schools in the area.

P.O.R.C.H.

PORCH stands for People Offering Real Christian Hope, and is a small group that meets at a members home geared primarily around the topic of addiction.

We meet and greet at 6:30 p.m.

We enjoy a potluck light meal after thanking God for the opportunity to be together and blessing our meal.

The meeting is then opened for updates from anyone who feels led to share what is going on in their lives.

The meeting then takes on a life of its own.  Often focused on just one individual and their immediate need for comfort or direction.

We wrap up our meeting in prayer and the last of the guests leave usually around 8-8:30 p.m.

For more info call the church office at 423-753-9288 or email at telfordumc@gmail.com
